SUDDEN RIDE

Yesterday I got the chance to install the new tyres and immediately after I was enraptured by the need of a sudden ride.

Went on the hills around the lake of Como, and got some pictures while on the ferry.

Here's a drawing I did either late in 72, or early 73. Long bikes were still in but getting lower. No high seats and pipes. The performance trend was gaining strength. Big carbs, magnetos and custom oil tanks were the hot set up... as were "Hot Pants" (short shorts on da'ladies).

AERMACCHI & HARLEY DAVIDSON

AERMACCHI, well famous Italian Brand & Industry specialized in production of airplanes in 1960 started anew collaboration with Harley Davidson, with the intention to sell the small medium size motorbike, typical of Italian production.

The collaboration with the factory of Milwaukee lasted for more than year, but at the end of the 70’s the motorcycle market was almost a monopole of the Japanese and the crisis lead to the an end this nice story.

Anyhow some model was very pretty and every year near Varese there is the annual meeting of Aermacchi – Harley Davidson.
