The Hideaway Grill, Cave Creek AZ

Arizona Bike Week is quickly becoming one of the largest bike rallies in the country. Celebrating its 16th year in March 2012.
Hundreds of thousands of riders trek to the Phoenix area for a week of early season riding and partying before continuing on to CycleFest at WestWorld in Scottsdale.

For many people, the party doesn't start until they pull into The Hideaway Grill, just outside of Phoenix in Cave Creek, Arizona. Mark Bradshaw opened The Hideaway Grill back in 1998. He wanted a place where bikers could get out of the city, get some wind in their faces and relax with some great food and a frosty beverage. For 13 plus years, The Hideaway has continued to attract more and more of the Arizona Bike Week crowd.... and become quite possible the perfect biker bar!
Hideaway Grill features a daily Happy Hour from 2 til 6pm, with free food and discounted drinks. Every day of the week is special, from Taco Tuesdays with 75 cent tacos to Blue Collar Night, with cheap PBRs and well drinks.

Bike Night is pretty much every night, but the official "Double Down" Bike Night is Friday, when you can make your drink a double for an extra 2 bucks. The staff is friendly, attentive and hard-working

The menu at The Hideaway ranges from  chicken wings and cheese sticks to salads, burgers, hot dogs and pizza. They recently added a breakfast menu and now open at 6 AM for those who want to get in a full day of riding!

Mark Bradshaw was honored as  Arizona Bike Week Hero of the Year in 2010. for his hard work, dedication and selfless contributions to the biker community. Congrats, Mark! Keep up the good work!

If you're planning to attend Arizona Bike Week and Cyclefest, make sure you pay a visit to The Hideaway. Say Hi to Mark, get a picture with one of the bartenders, and grab a Quickie before an awesome day of riding (it's a breakfast dish). Don't forget to tell them that Jeff from Bars4Bikers.com sent you!

V8 Motorcycle Parade & Bike Show Raises Funds for Children's Hospitals at Daytona Bike Week 2011

The crowd on Main Street was four-deep to watch the 7th Annual V8 Motorcycle Parade on Wednesday during the 70th Daytona Bike Week.

Photos - by Bruce Abowitt.

A record 127 of the V8 bikes and trikes participated in the parade and a scenic ride that finished with a free Rat's Hole V8 Motorcycle Show at Daytona Lagoon, across from the Ocean Center at 601 N. Earl Street in Daytona Beach.

All V8 owners are welcome to participate in the parade, scenic ride and bike show that is sponsored by Boss Hoss. The annual event is organized by Bill Taylor and other area V8 owners, who are united by their love of the big machines and a desire to raise money for the Shriner's Hospitals for Children.

The V8 owners rolled out for the parade at 1pm from the Custom Works, Boss Hoss dealership at 806 N. Beach Street.

"We had perfect weather and perfect escort help from both the Daytona Beach and Ormond Beach police departments for a scenic loop ride that was just outstanding," said Bill Taylor, who is president of the Midatlantic Chapter of the Boss Hoss Riders Association.

Last year, 105 V8 bikes and trikes from all over the country participated in the parade and ride-in V8 Motorcycle Show. "We met some V8 owners this year that live in California," said Taylor. "Each year, a few more new people join the parade and it just continues to get bigger every year."

Ted and Pam Smith led the parade and ride on their Rat's Hole V8 Custom Trike. They also played host to the V8 Motorcycle Show at 2pm at Daytona Lagoon. The show was open to the public and free to attend. Custom Works provided food and entertainment.

"Everyone loved the band, One Hit Wonder out of St. Augustine and the party continued until after 5pm," said Taylor. The V8 riders expect to donate more than $1,500 to the Shriner's Hospitals for Children. Donations will also be collected at the 39th Annual Rat's Hole Chopper Show on Saturday. Look for the purple buckets! Here's a link to more photos.

More than 90 bikes have pre-registered for the Saturday, March 12th Rat's Hole Show. "We expect to see a couple dozen more bikes register on Saturday morning," said Ted Smith. This year's show features a "World Bike Showdown" with bike builders from Australia, Canada, USA and the EAU on stage with their newest bike builds. Everyone who attends the show will receive a ballot to cast their vote for a favorite bike in the special competition. A new Rat's Hole custom trophy will be awarded to the first, second and third place winners in 22 classes.

David Uhl's Newest Pin-Up Girl Comes To Daytona Bike Week

The 70th Daytona Bike Week is just around the corner – March 4 to 13, 2011 and I can’t wait to see David Uhl’s Vintage Pin-up Series.

David is always set up in front of Destination Daytona and you can usually catch him working on his latest series of paintings. His vintage pin-up series pays tribute to his favorite pin-up artist, Gil Elvgren.

The paintings have a simpler, lighter background that was the popular choice of most traditional pin-up artists.

His previous 4 pin-up prints sold out in a matter of hours. His newest offering is “Clothing Optional,” now available as a hand-signed, numbered canvas print edition. Each print comes beautifully framed with a certificate of authenticity.

I am also looking forward to meeting the  MeanStreet Riders, a group of musician song writers, who ride together. They did the music behind a David UHL video.

Last year, it was "Stella" who came to Daytona Bike Week 2010 with David UHL

Born in a small fishing village in Michigan, David Uhl earned a scholarship to attend the Colorado Institute of Art. An avid Harley owner since 1988, Uhl's passion would soon coincide with his artistic talent. Harley-Davidson Motor Company executives recognized David's creative talents and introduced him to Segal Fine Art, a licensed publisher of Harley-Davidson fine art.

David spends endless hours in the Harley-Davidson Archives researching vintage photos to use as reference for his official fine art paintings. Captivated by the extraordinary history of the Motor Company, David's desire is to memorialize the legacy.
