Pay Tribute To Someone You Love: Add A Name To The New England Walkers For Knockers "Heroes of Hope" Calendar

Here's your chance to add the name of someone you love to a "Heroes of Hope" calendar being published by the New England Walkers for Knockers. Your donation of $10 or more will sponsor a special tribute printed on a day in the calendar.

The Calendar will feature pictures and the stories of 13 Women and 1 Man, some who are currently fighting breast cancer, some who have beat breast cancer and one who survived it, but recently passed away from other health related illnesses.

"Each of them is sharing their story, some talking about what they went through and how it affected their life; their stories are a true inspiration to all," said Brenda Smith, founding organizer of the Walkers for Knockers group. The New England Walkers For Knockers website also lists some upcoming events, including the 2nd Annual Ride For The Cure motorcycle ride in October. The ride will again this year be lead by California celebrity rider, Brenda Fox.

In the past five years, the New England Walkers for Knockers has raised $115,000 for the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer. This is a new path forward for the group, aimed at helping people on a more personal basis to face the emotional and financial burdens associated with struggling to overcome breast cancer.

Twin City Indian's 3-Day Event & Charity Ride Follows Sturgis

Indian Motorcycles of the Twin Cities in Saint Paul, Minnesota stages an annual 3-day national event the weekend after the Sturgis, SD rally and this year, the 9th charity ride for children's school supplies will include $10,000 in cash and prizes and a free T-shirt for all who pay the $20 ride registration by August 7th.

Georgia Charity Poker Run, Motorcycle & Car Show

This Saturday in Georgia, Jeremy and Nicole Johnson of Muttin Cycles  will host a poker run and bike show to benefit The Cathy’s Help Foundation.

Cathy’s Help caters to women that are battling breast cancer with or without insurance. The foundation was created in memory of Jeremy’s mother, Cathy Johnson, who lost her battle in 2005. The foundation aims to help with medical bills, medicine, home repairs ... Last year, a woman needed a new AC unit so Jeremy took everything in the account and made it happen. The funds are sitting at $3,554.51 and their goal is $50,000. Do me a favor and follow their Facebook page, donate if you can and help spread the word. Every dollar that is donated goes towards the cause.

Registration for the poker run opens at 8:30am Sat., July 9th at Stone Mountain Harley-Davidson in Conyers, GA. Kickstands up at 10:30am. The first stop will be Rocky's Hwy 142 Bar and Grill in Farrar, GA. (Newborn, GA.), then to Hammer's Get-A-Way in Jackson, GA and then back to The Whistle Post Tavern in Old Town Conyers, GA for the bike show and party.

Riders will travel in small groups from stop-to-stop on this 75-80 mile ride. The cost is $15 for single riders plus $10 for passengers.

Motorcycles from the poker run will also be entered in the Bike & Car Show for the chance to win some very cool prizes.

Not participating in the poker run? Kickstands Up 2011 Begins With 100 Miles of NC Twisties

Decorate your bike in pink or "ride naked" to the Kickstands Up 2011 launch ride on Saturday, June 18 that begins at Motorcycles of Charlotte and takes in 100 miles of twisties to Robbinsville, North Carolina.

"Sunday morning we’ll ride Tail of the Dragon and then I’ll keep going to Chattanooga, TN — you’re welcome to go as far as you’d like with me," said Tamela Rich, from her blog "Leaning into Life." 

The middle-aged motorcycle adventurer, who took up riding at age 48, will be blogging down the highway, learning "lessons from the road" on a "Conga" across 20 US states and 4 Canadian provinces to raise money and awareness for "The Cause" -- breast cancer research. She will travel about 10,000 miles before her "Kickstands Down" on July 28th.

Conga for the Cause is an ad-hoc fundraising and awareness-building initiative by Canadian and American motorcyclists who raise money in the fight against breast cancer. It’s called “Conga” because it resembles a Conga Line (you may have joined one at a wedding) where people drop in and out as the line snakes around the ball room.

It all begins at 9am June 18th 2011 with coffee and donuts at Motorcycles of Charlotte.

"Motorcycles of Charlotte has graciously provided us with a ride captain, Rich Lodge, who will place us in manageable groups, provide maps, etc. Please email him directly if you plan to ride with us so he knows what kind of crowd he’s in for. Kansas City W.A.R. Rally For "Wounded Warriors"

The 1st Annual - W.A.R. - Warrior Appreciation Rally is a special Armed Forces Day event planned for Saturday, May 21st to honor, support and raise awareness for our Military's Wounded Warriors. Come early to ride in the Patriot Motorcycle Ride. About the Missing Link Motorcycle Club: The Missing Link Motorcycle Club is a National AMA Chartered Motorcycle Club which was established in 1982 in Columbus Ohio. 18th Miracle Ride Around the Indy 500 Track

The Indianapolis Motor Speedway is celebrating 100 years of racing that will include the 18th Annual Miracle Ride on June 5th to raise money for the Riley Children's Hospital. More than 5,000 motorcyclists will enjoy the magic of riding around the historic Indy 500 track in a Sunday morning parade lead by the Indiana Motorcycle Drill Team. The Miracle Ride is a two-day event that includes a poker run and bike show on Saturday, as well as an auction, raffle and concert on Sunday.

"Over the past 17 years, the Miracle Ride has raised over $3 million for Riley Hospital and hopes to bring in another $400,000 in 2011," said Holly Farabough, director of marketing and sponsorship for Miracle Ride Foundation.

James Whitcomb Riley Hospital for Children is Indiana's first and only comprehensive children's hospital, saving lives and helping thousands of children every year. Many of the life saving programs at Riley are ranked as some of the top programs in the nation, setting a benchmark for other programs that help children. Riley is a not-for-profit hospital, so it relies heavily on donations from outside sources.

The Bob & Tom Show - nationally syndicated radio show presents the Miracle Ride.

On Saturday the 4^th the Miracle Ride kicks off with six poker runs with starting locations all over the state of Indiana. All poker runs will end at the Wyndham Indianapolis West Hotel, where the winners of each poker run will compete for six major prizes. The Wyndham will also be host of a Miracle Ride bike show and silent auction. Vendors will be available and there will be live music until Midnight.

On the morning of Sunday June 5^th, 5,000 plus Miracle Ride participants will gather at Allison Transmission. Bob & Tom from the Bob & Tom Radio Show will be on stage introducing guest speakers, giving some special presentations, and of course making everyone laugh. The Indianapolis Motorcycle Drill Team will perform and then participants will rev their engines for a very big parade ride.

The ride will leave Allison Transmission for a lap around the legendary Indianapolis Motor Speedway. It will then go past Riley Hospital for Children where doctors, nurses, families, and the children who are able, wave to all the riders and hold up signs of gratitude. This is a very touching moment that can bring you tears and definitely makes you feel good for supporting the cause.

The ride will end in Shelbyville, Indiana outside Indiana Live! Casino. Every participant will receive a complimentary lunch. Then Bob & Tom will do a live auction, announce the winners of the grand prize and most money raised prize, and the totals for the weekend will be announced. To end, anyone over 21 will be invited into the Casino to determine the winners of the Miracle Ride Raffle items.

It is a $50 minimum pledge per person to participate in the Miracle Ride. With this minimum pledge, adult participants receive access to all events both days, Sunday lunch, Saturday night camping, and an event t-shirt. Participants will also receive one chance at the grand prize, which is a 1200cc Harley-Davidson Sportster. For each interval of $50 donated, participants receive a chance at this grand prize. The individual who donates the most money to the Miracle Ride will receive a 2011 Harley-Davidson Sportster 883. Children who pledge $25 are eligible for a TTR 110 Yamaha or an Agility Kymco 50cc Scooter. Children under eight are free and children 8-15 pay $25 to participate.

Diamond Posse at Arizona Bike Week 2011

The Diamond Posse, a veteran outreach program from Milwaukee, Wisconsin is at Arizona Bike Week on a fundraising mission. They hope to raise at least $20,000 in 2011 in order to provide a trained service dog at no cost to a disabled combat veteran.

Members of the Diamond Posse will be at the Team Diva Booth all weekend (March 31 to April 3rd) at WestWorld, where you can also meet this year's celebrity rider, Sturgis Hall of Fame member Betsy "Gypsy" Lister. WestWorld is at 16601 N. Pima Road in Scotsdale, Arizona.

"The women riders in the Diamond Posse have a deep heart-felt gratitude for combat veterans, who have made our freedom possible by way of their sacrifices," said Gypsy.

The public is invited to stop by to say hello to these women, check out their bikes and learn more about the Diamond Posse and the non-profit program, NEARDS that trains service dogs.

The Diamond Posse rode every day to honor veturans during National Armed Forces Week in 2010. They hope to share their passion for riding with everyone, while also raising awareness and support for disabled veterans who have proudly served the United States of America.

Remembering Nathan Woods, Memorial Ride

The off-road community was deeply saddened to learn that two-time WORCS Champion and ISDE Gold Medalist Nathan Woods lost his life January 28th while practicing for the opening round of the 2011 WORCS Series in Taft, California. He was 32 years old.


A Celebration of The Life of Nathan Woods is planned for 2 p.m., Feb. 19th at the Madonna Inn Expo Center in San Luis Obispo, CA.


"I would like to take this opportunity to say a heart felt thank you for all your prayers, encouragement, thoughts and donations. This has been a difficult time for our family and the out pouring of support from the industry has been amazing. We would like to invite you to the Celebration of Life to honor Nathan. He was an amazing athlete, but more importantly he was a truly remarkable husband, father, and friend. Please join us in his celebration," said his wife, Amanda Woods in a post on Nathan Woods Offroad MX.

Woods is survived by his and their two sons Nathan Jr and Braxton. Woods long-time friends FMF/KTM rider Kurt Caselli and his former mechanic Charles Jirsa have gathered some of Woods’ closest friends to organize a ride day with all proceeds going directly to the Woods family.



The Nathan Woods Memorial Ride will be 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. February 23rd at Glen Helen Raceway in San Bernardino, CA, Home to the AMA Nationals and many other Motocross events. A $20.00 admission fee will be charged to all riders with 100% of the proceeds going directly to the Woods family. Gates will open at 9:00am on the morning of the ride day and an open practice session will be held from 10:00am to 4:00pm for both ATV’s and Motorcycle’s. A silent auction will also be held until 4:00pm with all proceeds going to the Woods family. If you have any items you would like to donate to the silent auction please bring them to the track on the day of the ride.

Harley-Davidson MDA Women's Ride Daytona, March 8th

Here's the update: This year’s MDA Women’s Ride in Daytona had over 100 participants and raised $35,868, providing 437 minutes of lifesaving research for local children and adults living with muscular dystrophy. The 4th Annual Harley-Davidson MDA Women's Ride Daytona is Tuesday, March 8th from Riverfront Park on Beach Street in downtown Daytona Beach to Bruce Rossmeyer Harley-Davidson's Destination Daytona in Ormond Beach.

All eligible riders will receive: 2011 MDA Harley-Davidson event pin and a special 2011 MDA Women's Ride flage for their bike.

Ride For Autism 2011: Louisiana to Mississippi, March 26th

The guitar in the picture was autographed and donated by country super star Clay Walker and will be auctioned off at the 8th Annual Ride For Autism - March 26th 2011.

The ride kicks off at Cajun Harley Davidson in Scott, Louisiana and arrives later Saturday to Doc Biglove's on Main Street in in Natchez, Mississippi.

Talk about a biker-friendly town! When the Ride For Autism rolls in, "the city of Natchez will be hosting a complimentary crawfish boil for all ride participants," said Donald Royer, Autism Project Independence board member and events coordinator. "Local ante-bellum homes will be open for touring, again free to all registrants."

Shell Bush and BroadBAND, an all-girl band from Tennessee will perform at the "arrival concert" on Satruday night in Natchez.
